'Woman Takes On 6000 new Housemates'

*24 year old Malaysian woman Nur Malena Hassan has moved into a glass box containing 6000 live scorpions in an attempt to enter the Guinness Book of World Records. Although current record holder Kanchana Ketkaew of Thailand was stung nine times during her record-setting 32 day incarceration with 3000 live scorpions in 2002, Nur Malena reportedly showed no fear as the creatures began to climb over her face and body.

Nur Malena may leave the box for only 15 minutes per day, and is monitored closely by both Guinness officials and medical staff.

'WW1 Soldiers Found Preserved in Glacier'

*An Italian mountain rescue worker has discovered the perfectly preserved bodies of three Austrian soldiers killed by a grenade attack during the second World War. Believed to have died in the conflict known as 'the Great Battle' in September 1918, the bodies were clad in full Austrian uniforms, largely intact including belts, gas masks, and caps.

Found encased in ice at more than 11,900 feet altitude on Italy’s San Matteo Mountain, the soldiers' bodies will be formally laid to rest in the local Military cemetery almost 90 years after their deaths in battle.

'Surfing Holidays in ... Switzerland ?'

Sports group 'Standing Wave' has announced plans to build a wave-generating machine on the Limmat River in Zurich. Home to an estimated half-million snowboarders, land-locked Switzerland is considered the ideal choice for a summer activity by the wave makers, who added that they hoped to install a plastic dam on the bed of the river designed to pump out tailor-made waves.

"Wave riding is possible far from the sea" said a spokesman for the company concerned "A wave is the ideal substitute for snow in summer".
