... issues and tissues with a touch of the spicy from the spirit hag ...

I was watching the (Australian) television show 'The Panel' last night, and the subject of 'mooning' came up.

Specifically, they were discussing the fact that an Australian Olympic swimming medalist had begun to pull his track bottoms down during an athletes' celebration with the intention of 'mooning' the other athletes, and had been 'removed' for questioning about the incident.

Apparently, Olympic officials has not been sure what the swimmer was 'planning to do'. As 'mooning' is known as 'chucking a brown eye' (sigh) in Australia, the panelists imagined a scenario something like this:

Olympic official: "What were you planning to do ?"

Athlete: "Well, I was planning to pull my pants down. Maybe wave my ass around a bit at people for a while. Perhaps even hold the cheeks open for a bit and chuck a bit of a brown eye, you know ?".

The very idea of questioning an athlete for such a thing seems hilarious to me. But then, the 'brown eye' in a not-uncommon salute in Australia. Talk on 'The Panel' soon led to how funny it is when you're driving down a boring street, minding your own business, and you see a naked ass hanging out of a car window.

I almost die laughing when it happens. You just haven't lived until you've driven by a carload of Aussie surfer boys giving the world the old one-eyed-ass-wink.

These acts are, of course, illegal. And probably fairly stupid as well. And whilst you're not likely to catch me wowing the world with my less-than-impressive posterior, neither will I ever stop laughing at the people who do.

altho i was initially extremely tempted to wonder aloud (in type anyway) if the swimmer in question was somehow unaware of the potential jeopardy in which he was placing himself, greece being umm greece, after all.   im pleased to report i was able to restrain myself and therefore will not be going for a very cheap laff at the expense of national stereotypes which are maybe only unsubstantiated rumors.
