...wow. you really CAN buy anything on the internet ;)
So, you came home after a few coldies at 3am and decided it would be a bit of a lark to auction your corpse on eBbay ?. Never mind. We've all done it, right ?.
So spare a thought for a British man who has received death threats after failing to make good with the delivery of his body to the successful eBay bidder, a German cannibal named "Donnie".
22 year old Daniel O'Dee listed his corpse for sale as a drunken dare, and before eBay could remove the listing, he received a reportedly genuine bid from someone in Germany calling himself "Donnie, the Hanover Cannibal", who offered to pay around $4000 for O'Dee's "corpse".
When O'Dee emailed the bidder to explain that it had been a joke, "Donnie" replied that he was "very disappointed that this is your own body, as I require one as soon as possible".
"Donnie" went on to say that if O'Dee had "any other access to a fresh corpse" he would be "very interested and willing to pay a more than a fair price". He explained that he was part of a syndicate that purchases "takeaway" corpses, and that they 'band together' to share the costs of such purchases.
When O'Dee didn't respond to the emails, he apparently began to receive death threats from the German, and decided to go public with his story in the hope of scaring off the carnivorous bidder.
Needless to say, O'Dee says he will not be visiting Germany at any time in the near future. (Presumably so he doesn't end up as a pile of German sausages or something).
Funny. Too funny. But only if it's not true, yes ?.
