... issues and tissues with a touch of the spicy from the spirit hag ...

Despite a more than respectable showing in terms of tourism websites and beautiful natural attractions, until not long ago, most of the world just didn't know where Coffs Harbour was. Rather than basking in our rightful glory as one of the most liveable cities for it's size in the world, we were invariably asked by overseas visitors "Coffs Harbour ? ... where in the World is Coffs Harbour ?".

Now, as our rapidly growing and beautiful area slowly gets the attention it deserves from those who used to see Coffs Harbour as a roadside motel stopover on the annual family trip to Queensland, Coffs is beginning to come into it's own as a beautiful destination.

With it's natural wonders, scenic villages and cosmopolitan improvements co-existing in a melting pot of modern relaxed coastal life, Coffs Harbour is becoming that elusive mix of up to date and traditional that seems to fuel all successful community growth.

We are also fast becoming an area known for our commitment to environmental issues. I have overseas friends who marvel at the abundance of beauty surrounding us that we take for granted. I had one friend who insisted that we 'must put something in the water to make it so blue' !.

Another City dweller spent hour upon hour in the Coffs Butterfly House, amazed that such a place could exist at all, let alone a few minutes from a bustling Town.

Whilst I hope that Coffs Harbour continues to enjoy a growing profile in the tourism industry, I'll be counting on the recipe for success that we currently enjoy staying pretty much as balanced as it is.

wherever it is, it looks like an excellent place to be.   im not sure it's wise to let the world in on your secret tho, for fear you'll be overrun by tourists, immigrants and...their favorite gustatory gastropods.   for that reason, im hesitant to add this link link but since i did, once the page loads, look down the 'info' column and find the 'virtual tours' links.   theyre pretty cool 360 degree views of coffs harbour points of interest including umm 'the big banana'

im guessing that didnt just appear one day.   but...

i love coffs! it's beautiful and i don't get down there often enough. i love how soft the sand is on the beach -- and how your calves ache the day after a long walk on that sand.

enjoy it there mig and i hope all the newly-enlightened tourists don't bother you too much! i'm waving from brisbane
