it’s astounding that men and women persist in trying to “understand” each other. why do we bother ?. our incessant (and stupid) attempts to have “compatible needs” and be “in tune” with each other serve only to highlight our “differences” ...

... you know, the ones we were designed to have ?

... the ones that ensure we procreate. the ones that make sure that men will always be men and women will always be women. and hence our race will advance (sensibly heedless of the whims of a few (self-styled) “advanced” souls who think that if more than one opinion in expressed on a subject, then somebody has to be wrong)

why can’t we all be right for a change ?. the world might be a better place if more soap-boxing-sycophants got down off their towering ego-perches and looked at the facts: there is no fighting the natural order of things. we will not make any difference just by wanting to

i venture to suspect that this is because we’re not supposed to. and, let’s face it – it’s a no-brainer to imagine the consequences to humanity if we were, indeed, somehow permitted to influence the design of the opposing sex. (the assumption being that in this, as in any endeavour that we undertake, the (vocal) majority of the corn-and-porn fed humans would rule)

We need men, don't we. We don't just need them to be, but we need them to become men, to manifest manliness. The being what they are is totally divorced from the doing what they are, right? The man in the bedroom is like the man in the war room like the man in the loungeroom like the man in parliment like the man that abuses everything because it's his god given right. More than this its his woman given right. I wonder if the recent "incidence" with the bulldogs would have happened if women didn't expect men to be men and pour forth the adoration when they are. this refers to a recent incident in australia where 6 members of a first grade rugby league football team allegedly pack-raped a woman in a hotel. the case is in the hands of the courts, and appears to have some truth to it. so, rather than make a joke of it as per our anonymous poster above, i will say this:

if women really DID expect men to be MEN ... if we really understood and respected our differenences ... if we looked at our genetic makeup and NOT what we WISH was there, then maybe we wouldn't end up alone with six men to begin with.

i am not excusing what they did. yet, the general reaction (male and female) to this crime is one of horror, but NOT SURPRISE. nobody thinks it's okay. but nobody is surprised either. enough said.

I think the lack of surprise could be explained by the fact that all suspects are football players. It does not strike me as a minor coincidence that football in Australia is one of the last bastions of unadulterated masculinity left. There are many justifications for that particular culture and most nest in the lazy comfort of genetic pseudo-science (hell, the nazi's used it). Males and females have no choice. Blame the species; blame the universal not the particular. Just don't be surprised, because it's all part of the genetic master plan.
